Hi, I’m Alyse Whitney, Dip Queen and author of cookbook Big Dip Energy!

My first-of-its-kind cookbook Big Dip Energy came out in April 2024 (published by William Morrow/HarperCollins), packed with creative visuals and entertaining-ready recipes, all developed and written by me. As Creative Director, I conceptualized scenes for every shot with mood boards and decks, brought them to life with my curated prop collection, and produced the 9-day shoot. The book has been Featured on podcasts (The Sporkful and NPR’s Good Food); news segments (KTLA); print magazines (Cosmopolitan, People, AllRecipes, Woman’s Day, BUST, Cherry Bombe), and online publications (The Kitchn, BuzzFeed, Washington Post, WIRED & more).

I was Cosmopolitan’s first-ever food columnist in the magazine’s 60-year history with “Doing the Least With Alyse,” sharing easy-yet-impressive recipes, entertaining tips, and the stories and solutions behind the dish.

You may have seen me as a host and judge on food TV shows such as Netflix’s Easy-Bake Battle, Pressure Cooker, and The Big Nailed It! Baking Challenge, and Food Network’s Chopped.

I've been a journalist for more than a decade across print and digital publications and companies—including Cravings by Chrissy Teigen, Rachael Ray Every Day, and Bon Appétit—in which I've worn many wigs (hats don't suit me) as a writer, editor, recipe developer, content and DTC commerce strategist, product and marketing copywriter, and creatively expansive ideas machine.
